    Honest limits

    • These are generated phrases for inspiration. They may coincidentally resemble existing clan mottos, song lyrics or quotes — always search a motto before adopting it as your official one.
    • Not legal advice. If you plan to use a motto commercially (merch, esports branding), check trademark databases and consider original wording of your own.
    • Game chat filters vary. Some words that are fine here may be filtered in certain games; test your pick in-game before announcing it.
    • The generator creates short phrases, not logos, banners or artwork.

    How it works

A template engine with a warrior's vocabulary — no accounts, no network calls.

    • Five distinct voices

Each style has its own templates and tone. Warrior is epic and direct, Latin-style is short and solemn, tactical is disciplined, humorous keeps it light, shadowy stays dark.

    • Secure random assembly

Phrases are built with crypto.getRandomValues(), the browser's secure random number generator. Every generation shuffles templates and vocabulary for a fresh set.

    • Nothing leaves your device

Generation, copying and the .txt download happen locally in your tab. No backend, no database, no analytics.

    Picking a motto that sticks

Three tests before you commit to a clan motto.

    • Say it out loud

A motto lives in voice chat. If it sounds awkward shouted before a match, it will not survive the week. Short war cries win here — read our motto ideas guide.

    • Match your squad's truth

A tactical motto on a chaotic casual squad feels wrong within days. Pick the style that describes how you actually play, not how you wish you played — see the style breakdown.

    • Check it is yours

Search the exact phrase before adopting it. Big clans and esports orgs reuse mottos; a quick check avoids an awkward duplicate. More in the FAQ.

    Quick answers

What is a clan motto? +

A clan motto is a short phrase that expresses a gaming clan's identity — its attitude, values or playstyle. It appears on clan pages, banners, Discord servers and sometimes in-game. A war cry is its shorter, punchier cousin, meant to be shouted before a match.

What makes a good gaming clan motto? +

Short, memorable, and true to how your squad plays. The best mottos use strong verbs and concrete nouns ("Strike Silent, Strike Sure") rather than vague hype. Our guide covers the anatomy of a motto that lasts.

Can I use a generated motto for my clan? +

Yes — that is what the generator is for. But search the exact phrase first to make sure another clan or brand is not already using it, especially if you plan merch or competitive play.

    Is ClanCry free? +

Yes. Unlimited generations, no account, no email, no paywall. Plain JavaScript in your browser.
